  7. I think the one bad thing about Gaim is the wait for the next episode. It’s nice to see you’re getting them out quickly, though. As always, the effort is well appreciated.

    And anything that starts with a guy in a Santa costume fighting interdimensional bug monsters and ends with a completely serious scene of a guy having a giant melon fall on his head is utterly glorious. Now if only Sundays came quicker…

      • The truth is they’re actually TRYING to channel the Hopper Hell Brothers, they’re just doing a very poor job of it.

        • I’ve never watched Kabuto but I am vaguely familiar with them and quite honestly I don’t see it at all. They act a lot more like Momotaros and Urataros. The only odd thing is that the one they resemble seems to swap when they fight, least if I recall correctly.

        • Er, I’m pretty sure they’re trying to channel Kamen Rider 1 and 2, which is what the Hoppers where also a reference too like this dynamic duo. Except this time, it’s for comedy instead of unwavering badassery.

  9. Well, kiwi was there for all of five seconds marvelous. Glad to see bravo is going to be played as the character to sort of mess up any plans of games. Because trolling seems to fit his arch type perfectly

    • If your asking about the one in the opening that one isn’t even in theaters yet. They will only sub it once its on blue ray or dvd. Which will be in a couple of months or more.

    • Don’t trust the fansubs when they’re quicksubs. Especially from groups that prefer to take “creative liberties” as pointless and absurd as these.

      Really AEsir should realize they’re causing people in the fandom to get the name wrong like this because people can’t even notice that the characters are CLEARLY saying Gridon. There are people THAT blinded by the fansubs.

      Course I really have no right to complain because it’s a free service, but that’s not going to stop me from being ticked off by it.

      • yeah and we must be terrible getting people to think Micchy is saying “the white Armored Rider” when he’s actually saying 白いアーマードライダー. I mean the word ‘the’ isn’t even in that Japanese sentence what the fuck is this localizing bullshit

        like if your idea is that translating something makes it “wrong”, and that people talking about the translated terms for things rather than the originals is somehow innately “wrong”, I don’t know what to say to you. You’re not the audience we’re trying to cater to, and while you’re entitled to your opinion, acting as though that opinion is The One True Way isn’t going to get you anywhere

      • actually looking at your tumblr it seems your entire shtick is “you should know what this is from or you’re a bad person”, which explains why you think actually helping people to understand what’s going on is a bad thing.

        luckily i’ve been dealing with this language long enough to have gotten past the point in my life where i think knowing things others don’t makes you in some way special, so if it’s all the same I think we’ll keep doing our actual jobs

        • Also, I know it might not look it, but that was actually kinda tongue-in-cheek. I’m honestly not going to care if people know the song or not, well unless I personally am well acquainted, because then it’s more of a personal issue, but I wouldn’t judge them too harshly…barely the kind of thing I’d normally get hung up on anyway..

          I’d also just noticed you thought that I thought helping people understand things is a bad thing. I see where you’re coming from, and I disagree wholeheartedly with your methods. Obviously, putting a TL note every time would probably annoy people as well. I guess I can just accept the fact there’s no conceivable way to make everyone happy.

            • I can’t tell if you’re being serious or not when that name goes against my original point…

              I would have called Magenta out on the personal attack myself, but that too is bad form. It’s better to use proper reasoning to defend myself than to lash out in defense.

            • tbh when you act as though we are objectively ~wrong~ and RUINING THE FANBASE because we’re doing, as I see it, our jobs – I consider that a personal attack. As much on the people who actually prefer our style of translation as it is to us.

              Your original comment was rude, derisive, and frankly insulting to our viewers. I responded in kind, certainly, but I think trying to take the moral/rational high ground afterwards is laughable at best.

            • I admit, that WAS poor form, but that doesn’t make it OK for you to be rude in return, let alone in such a manner where you look at a SINGLE post on my tumblr and judged me, which I personally believe is worse, but even if it was, that still wouldn’t justify what I originally said…

              So yea, neither of us are getting that moral high ground right now.

        • They probably think the subtitles contain the name they should be using, which effectively create a huge division in the english speaking part of the fanbase.

  12. Seriously, has everyone completely forgotten about Yuya? It doesn’t seem like they’re putting up a serious effort to locate him. I kinda hope this comes back to bite them in the ass hard later.

    • Personal theory: he ate the fruit. Seems like everyone is ready to, unless someone stops them. The Yggdrasil techs wear those hazard suits for a reason. And I think you can guess the same thing I did about what happens to someone who eats the fruit…
