Got it, move… wow… Don’t say no, just live more! It’s survival, you gotta move (Don’t say no, just live more) The wind of the moment has its own message to share But don’t let life get you down (Don’t say no, just live more!) Live like you’re always taking the stage (Don’t say no, just live more!) The sky of the moment has its own view to see When there are no trails The one who can bring an end to this conflict The wind of the moment has its own message to share The sky of the moment has its own view to see But don’t let life get you down Don’t say no, just live more! |
the second chorus is too good and whenever I watch this show I end up singing it over the first in the OP. help.
Can you explain why you went with, “The wind of the moment has its own message to share,” and, “The sky of the moment has its own view to see” as translations? Because those statements — especially the latter — are pretty nonsensical. Am I wrong in interpreting the lyrics as meaning, “Right now, the wind has a message to share” and “Right now, the sky has a view to share?”
Sure! The ‘to iu’ indicates that something is describable as something else (from ‘ieru’, the verb meaning to ‘say’), so in this case it’s literally like, “the wind called ‘now'” and “the sky called ‘now'” An example of the word is in ep 9 of the show, when Takatora talks about the Beat Riders, he uses “Beat Riders to ka iu renchuu”, which is basically “those Beat Riders, or whatever it is they call themselves.”
As for the more elaborate wording at the end, the Japanese is rather passive – it’s a querying “it’s got something to share/see, but who knows what” whereas I think using something like ‘has a message to share’ makes it sound more active and knowing? It’s nitpicky stuff but it’s the kind of nitpicky stuff we have to worry about, alas.
Hey have y’all tried to do the lyrics for E-X-A (Exciting x Attitude) by Kamen Rider Girls. it’s a pretty kick ass BGM song.
survival or survivor ?
It’s ‘survival’. The official lyrics have it as that (written ‘サバイバル’ in Japanese) whereas ‘survivor’ would be written ‘サバイバー’, which is close but not quite the same.
can you translate W-B-X
Hope you can translate it soon.. thanks before
