Some shit about fuckin’ shaved ice and radiators
<— Look, see, it’s in the Japanese lyrics
Radiators. I’m not even making this up.
Who uses a radiator as a metaphor? Really?

And you’re like, “where’s the shaved ice then?”
<— Well it’s right there.
That is the extent of this song’s reach, folks.
A modern love story told through shaved ice and radiators.

I mean it’s called “Summer Winds, Fall Winds”, right?
Spoilers: They don’t even mention the fall winds till the end
Too busy coming up with ridiculous metaphors, I guess.
This line? “Never let me go, I love you.”

Look, if you start comparing the sun to a radiator…
Well, it’s not going to bode well for our relationship.
Don’t start getting all clingy with me, okay?
Lest you start comparing me to chewing gum or something.

“Your shadow draped across my body”
“Covers my sunburnt skin from the heat”
See that’s a bit better. That’s, you know, viable.
As a thing in a song about summer romance.

Maybe you should have opened with that?
It’d be better than comparing the sun to a radiator.
I mean I know I keep going on about this.
But how do you even translate that sensibly?

<— Here’s the fall winds, by the way.
I mean I figure if you’ve stuck with it this long,
You probably want the payoff.
Not that I think anything actually compares to radiators.
Except the sun, obviously. As we established.

So that’s Summer Winds, Fall Winds.
Rating: Chigusa/10. That’s about a 2.7 in English.

Thematically accurate.
