HeartCatch Precure 26 Released

And lo did the Castle of Cliche rise from the Lake of Predictability.

SD: DDL | Torrent
HD: DDL | Torrent
Don’t forget this and all our other episodes can be downloaded from the [Precure]AllStars bot over at #precure or #news on irc.rizon.net thanks to our lovely Rika-chama, ruler of bots. And extra special thanks to the lovely maryadavies and CureGecko for our DDLs. <3

I totally utterly forgot we had this lying around. Totally my fault, sorry. D: It’s been like sitting around waiting to go for the best part of a week and between OOO excitement, getting addicted to Fable and working on other things I literally forgot about it until I was encoding PC5 9 QC and saw it in my encode directory. ~Whoops~. I am, apparently, fantastic.

Anyway, have what is possibly the worst episode of the show thusfar. The only saving grace is 27 was very, very good. Translatey stuff after the jump.

Hooray, name meaning times again! Let’s handle our fashionista de jour, Sawai Naomi. Naomi is, well, as you know, a fairly common first name. In Japanese, however, it’s written using two kanji – one meaning “normal”, and the other meaning “beauty”. The use of ‘normal’ is deliberately misleading – on the one hand you can interpret it as the ‘ideal’ of beauty – what is commonly held to be beautiful. On the other hand you could interpret it as “unremarkable”. You can read a lot into this about how SHE CONSIDERS HERSELF REMARKABLY BUT IS ACTUALLY A VERY BEAUTIFUL PERSON or you can go “it’s a name.” For reference, HeartCatch firstnames are always written in hiragana rather than kanji (which has no innate meaning). Fun!

Sawai, on the other hand, is written with kanji meaning a ‘valley well’. It’s just one of those surnames that grows from locations, much as you might see ‘Marsh’ as a surname, or whatever. However, ‘sawai’ is also the adjective form of ‘sawagu’, which generally means “to be loud or noisy” but can also just mean to be flustered or uneasy, which sums her up to a tee, I feel.

This is normally the point where I’d explain how terrible Erika’s constant “It’s [ridiculous word chain] Time!”s are, or how Kumojacky’s attack name is so ridiculous that I felt it had to have that word-by-word effect on, and Crusher vs Crasher, etc. Unfortunately, this episode is too terrible to be discussed, so I’m going to copy-paste select riffing from our script.

Comment: {Laniatus: so using the pre-op of 26 as a metric for the content of the episode, it’s about water fights and lesbians. Rika will be half-pleased.}

Dialogue: You said you wanted us to light some fireworks together this evening.{I know what you’re thinking, this wording is shitty. If you think this wording is shitty, you haven’t seen the fireworks it’s describing. Any normal description of what fireworks do is completely useless for fireworks as bad as these.}

Dialogue: …I’ve always really admired the student council president. {This shimmy walk is the GAYEST THING EVER.}

Dialogue: Ah, a water canna! {Of course the pond is heart-shaped.}

Dialogue: Mmm, she really is! These sandwiches are delicious!{YES! YES! THIS IS DELICIOUS!} {Is this sandwich BISOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON?}

Dialogue: Blossom! Marine!
Comment: {Wow, you two suck.}
Comment: {It’s almost like they’re trying to make Sunshine look more competent or something.}
Comment: {Almost as though they have some kind of ulterior motive in doing so.}
Comment: {Like, I dunno, selling merchandise or something?}

Dialogue: I just want to be friends with the student council president! {This is fucking lame.}

Dialogue: Just how… how should I respond to Naomi-san’s feelings? {SHUT UP AND STOP SAYING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN perhaps.}

Dialogue: But all the better to keep me entertained.{He’s literally just saying “This is getting more and more fun.” Feel free to slap me back into place if you like. :w} {He doesn’t look like he’s having fun. This line can stand.}{Well at least the feeling is goddamn mutual.}

Dialogue: Let’s be good friends, Naomi-san!{I HATE JAPANESE IT IS THE WORST LANGUAGE OH MY GOD}

  1. Comment: {Laniatus: so using the pre-op of 26 as a metric for the content of the episode, it’s about water fights and lesbians. Rika will be half-pleased.}

    Rika is all-pleased with lesbians.

  2. Thanks for all your hard work guys, i look forward to each and every release :) Just one thing I’ve noticed is a slight inconsistancy with the file names. sometimes they start [Aesir] and other times _Aesir_. So my computer and PS3 puts them into different groups. Not a major problem and easily fixed but i thought i’d bring it to your attention. Thanks again.

    • It sounds like you’re using the DDLs. If so that’s really out of our control. Try always downloading from the same host or copying the name from the torrent (correct names are listed on the tracker page).

  3. I use a mixture of torrent and DDL’s depending on what time of day it is, I live in the UK and i find Torrents are too slow in the evening if i’m wanting to watch asap. Like i said it’s not a big problem, thanks anyway.

    • By the looks of it, Rapidshare, depositfiles and Zshare all strip [] from the filenames and Megaupload, hotfile and uploading preserve them. One of those nuances of Multiupload, I guess.

      I tend to find Megaupload works pretty well and speedy (100kbps at least) even during evening traffic shaping, so try that if you want to keep filenames intact?
